New Orleans Convention Center Linear Park

Durr completed work with Landis Construction Company on the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center (NOCC) Linear Park project in Fall 2020. With over 1 million square feet of exhibit space, the NOCC is an essential backbone for business and tourism in the city. The Convention Center’s District Development Project aimed to improve its outside areas with green space, area for outdoor events, and public art displays.

Durr’s work site spanned Convention Center Blvd. from Poydras St. to Henderson St. and included the pouring of over 15,000 cubic yards of concrete, including sidewalks, curbs, and ADA-compliant ramps. The existing roadway was demolished and the updated roadway is now accessible to public traffic. In addition, new bus and ride-share terminals have been constructed and are now operational.

Durr also worked on the “pedestrian park” portion of this job, which included building the walkway profile, pouring concrete, and installing pavers for the outside area. For this portion of work, a series of new drain inlets and catch basins were installed throughout the park side. In addition, Durr ran a new 8” waterline while relocating multiple hydrants in the surrounding area.
