Kenner Levee Lift

Durr completed work on a $1.4M governmental infrastructure job for the Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority–East (SLFPA-E) and the East Jefferson Levee District (EJLD).

The Kenner Levee Lift project involved raising the existing Jefferson Parish Lakefront Hurricane Levee, designated as LPV-00.2 by the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) in the Lake Ponchartrain and Vicinity Hurricane and Storm Damage Risk Reduction System (HSDRR).

Durr hauled and placed over 30,000 CY of compacted embankment fill, lifting the levee to the design elevation. Work also included clearing & grubbing, degrading of the existing levee, fertilizing, and seeding on the approximately 28-acre area.

This section of levee provides hurricane protection for 100-year storm surge events in the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Hurricane and Storm Damage Risk Reduction System (HSDRR).
