Durr Heavy Construction partnered with the Housing Authority of New Orleans (HANO) and VergesRome Architects on the former B.W. Cooper housing site located in Central City, New Orleans. For this $2.2M project, Durr demolished existing slabs and parking lots, along with executed a complete soil remediation of approximately the first two feet of soil on the entire project site. Sixty-thousand tons of existing soil material were removed by Durr and brought to an authorized disposal site. The remediated areas were then replaced with fifty-thousand yards of backfill material. Durr also performed electrical upgrades to the remaining buildings, and provided new fencing and grass seeding for the site, which will be used for future developments on the property.
