Spreading Joy and Hope: Rhino Angels Christmas Toy Drive

At Durr Heavy Construction, we believe in the power of giving back and spreading joy, especially during the holiday season. Each year, we are thrilled to host our annual toy drive benefiting the Giving Hope Stephen F. Stumpf Food Pantry, a cherished event that invites our clients, vendors, family, and friends to join us in making a difference.

In memory of our beloved Rhino Angels, Kent Cheramie and Sydney “Cooky” Ordoyne, we gather new and gently used toys to bring smiles to children and their families. Our efforts support the food pantry’s incredible work, which in 2023 alone provided over 327,000 hot meals to senior citizens and those experiencing homelessness, and delivered more than 7.2 million pounds of groceries to families in need.

The highlight of our campaign is the Toy Distribution Day, an event filled with joy and laughter, where we’ve had the privilege of serving anywhere from 300-400 families in just four hours. It’s a day that brings joy and smiles, not only to the children who receive the toys but also to everyone involved. We are deeply honored to be a part of this cause knowing that each toy donated embodies the spirit of hope and community.
