New Orleans Cold Storage

As part of a $42 million expansion, Durr was tasked to prep all sitework and install utilities necessary to build a new 140,000 SF sub zero cold storage facility. Durr’s scope included site demolition, building pads, new gravity and forced sewer mains, sewer lift stations, new 20” water main, storm drainage, new stone base for new asphalt pavement, including milling and overlaying of existing and new asphalt pavement. Durr also installed over 65,000 LF of piping under the storage facility’s slab to provide under floor heating as well as performed all the concrete work around the building. This included a new barrier curb, dolly drop pads, sidewalks, truck loading dock apron, new wharf apron, vehicle and pedestrian ramps and walls, transformer and generator pads. Contract value is currently at $5.92 million. This project earned Durr Heavy Construction a national Excellence in Construction Pyramid Award from Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) in the Specialty Construction, Commercial category.
