After Hurricane Katrina's devastating blow, Holy Cross School in the lower 9th ward of New Orleans made the decision to relocate to a new campus in the Gentilly areas of the city.Durr was given the opportunity to work on all phases of the school's relocation including the demolition of the original campus, preparing the new site and the demobilization of the modular school buildings that were used prior to the new school's completion.
The most extensive phase was the preparation of the new site, which included under ground utilities, drainage and concrete paving.
Additionally, the school's historic gazebo was brought from the former location and re-assembled with Durr's help on top of newly poured sidewalks.
All of Durr's work was completed while students occupied the modular school rooms as well as after they moved into the school building.
