SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct and coordinate activities of workers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure construction projects are completed according to safety regulations, project specifications and on or before schedule and at or below budget.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Interface with project managers and superintendents at pre-construction meetings so that full understanding of job scope and schedule is obtained.
2. Review production schedules in order to plan and implement department operations (job schedule, manpower and equipment).
3. Implements corporate safety plan for individual job sites by ensuring that weekly safety meetings and daily job-site inspections are performed.
4. Meet with owners, general contractors, sub-contractors, vendors and suppliers at job sites for pre-construction meetings to discuss scope of work, budgets and schedules.
5. Direct activities of workers concerned with site preparation, land clearing and filling, demolition and other construction projects.
- plan, schedule and direct production activities/priorities to obtain maximum production and utilization of manpower and equipment;
- plan and implement equipment requirements for each job and scope of work; and
- plan and implement movement of equipment and personnel.
6. Discuss and review job-site activities with Project Managers by means of the following:
- maintain production schedules;
- monitor and maintain balanced job budgets in order to control costs;
- review and analyze job cost reports in order to resolve operational problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays; and
- develop and implement methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems, thereby improving product quality.
7. Consult with engineering personnel regarding modifications and redesign of individual site work projects.
8. Assists superintendents in determining pay request quantities for billing purposes.
9. Assists superintendents in identifying change order work items.
10. Meet with Safety Director and Operations Manager to develop solutions or recommendations to prevent the occurrence or reoccurrence of job-site accidents and injuries.
11. Implement and monitor the following personnel activities:
- interview potential candidates for hiring;
- employee evaluations;
- employee transfers;
- employee promotions;
- enforcement of employee disciplinary action; and
- employee terminations.
12. Interface and communicate with Operations Manager to address problems or concerns in order to develop solutions regarding:
- schedules;
- budgets;
- equipment; and
- personnel.
13. Perform all other duties and responsibilities requested by Operations Manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED
Five (5)to ten (10) years experience as a Site Work Superintendent/Demolition Supervisor for a mid to large size site preparation, demolition or construction company.
