SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare a cost estimate for proposed projects to be constructed.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Verify or calculate all necessary materials required for projects.
2. Select vendors for prices for estimates.
3. Determine the labor force required to peform all required activities of work.
4. Determin if overtime or straight time will be necessary to perform the activities.
5. Verify any required wage scale needed for the estimate.
6. Evaluate needed equipment for estimate and contract rental entities if rental equipment is needed.
7. List any subcontractors needed to perform protions of the work for pricing.
8. Accumulate all requirements and project a duration of the estimated project to asusreit is within the time limits stipulated.
9. Finalize pricing of estimate in a timely manner so as to allow time to review the estimate with Senior Estimator and President.
10. Communicate with President, Superintendents, Office Engineers and Estimating Assistants for estimate related topics.
11. Communicate with subcontractors and vendors for clarifications and alternates (i.e. addenda).
12. Have a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the estimated project.
13. Review journals, periodicals, newspapers or any other resources to acquire proposed projects falling within the scope of Durr Heavy Construction undertakings.
14. Establish relationships with prospective clients and maintain relationships with clients who depend on us to price work.
15. Visit job site prior to bidding.
16. Perform any other tasks necessary to produce a comprehensive estimate or that, which may be requested by the Senior Estimator and President.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
BS in Engineering - Construction Management curriculum or comparable experience (5-7 years of estimating).
Computer literate with working knowledge of estimating software, MicroSoft Work and Excel.
Excellent organization skills and the ability to manage multi-tasks.
People skills a must.
