SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Construct and install forms or bracing of wood, plywood, and metal, using carpentry tools and woodworking machines as required..
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Build rough wooden structures, such as concrete forms and scaffolds according to sketches, blueprints, or oral instructions. Wreck and dismantle forms as necessary.
2. Examine specifications to determine dimensions of structure.
3. Measure boards, timbers or plywood using square, measuring tape and ruler, and mark cutting lines on materials using pencil and scriber.
4. Saw boards and plywood panels to required sizes.
5. Nail cleats (braces) across boards to construct concrete-supporting forms.
6. Brace forms in place with timbers, tie rods and anchors for use in building concrete piers, footings and walls. Install metal inserts, such as anchor bolts, angle irons or other embedded items.
7. Erect chutes for pouring concrete.
8. Cut and assemble timbers to build trestles and cofferdams.
9. Build falsework to temporarily strengthen, protect, or brace buildings undergoing construction.
10. Erect scaffolding for all purposes and install ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms and gangways.
11. Perform all other duties and responsibilities assigned by Foreman.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED.
Five (5) years experience as a construction carpenter.
Able to read and work from blueprints and drawings.
