Sidney "Cooky" Ordoyne
Equipment Manager
Sidney “Cooky” Ordoyne learned his trade by starting from the bottom and working his way up. He began his career working for the school board, specializing in maintenance. From there, Ordoyne was introduced to Heavy Equipment as a mechanic for a company based out of Westwego, Louisiana. At that point, he found his passion.
In March of 1970, Ordoyne began his career at Durr Heavy Construction as a mechanic for company founder, Mr. Eddie Durr. He then progressed to a Lowboy Driver and then was trained to be an Equipment Operator. Ordoyne continued to operate heavy equipment for the next 20 years. In 1990, under the leadership of new company owner, Mr. Steve Stumpf (who took the company over in 1976), Ordoyne was promoted to Equipment Manager. He currently oversees the operation, maintenance, and dispatching responsibilities for Durr’s entire fleet of Heavy Equipment, which consist of over 120 machines with a collective value of over $13 million. Furthermore, Ordoyne was also given the role as General Superintendent for all Demolition Projects. Ordoyne still maintains the same significant roles to this day. He was treasurer of the Equipment Maintenance Council and a member of the Fleet Maintenance Council.
Sidney has been married for 37 years and has 2 children and 3 grandchildren. When not managing and coordinating Heavy Equipment and Demolition Projects, Ordoyne takes passion in street rides, race cars and antique cars.
