John “Johnny” Yoder
General Superintendent, South Shore
After attending Loyola University, University of New Orleans and Delgado Community College, all of which are located in New Orleans, John “Johnny” Yoder obtained his Associates Degree in Management. Prior to this, he attended Abramson High School, class of 1969.
Yoder began his construction career in 1969, under the Alodex Corporation, in which he held the position as Clerk of the Works. In 1973, after Alodex relocated, Yoder worked as a salesman for a wholesale distribution company, Mike’s S/S Supplies and C&E Auto. After spending 11 years as a salesman, Yoder pursued an entrepreneurial career in 1984, by becoming owner of a local Shell Gas and Service Station.
In 1994, Yoder joined Durr Heavy Construction. In the beginning he started as a carpenter for Durr’s Whitney Bank Group Maintenance Division. From there, Yoder was promoted to supervisor and then eventually became a Durr Superintendent, managing large-scale projects. In 2006, he assumed the role of General Superintendent overseeing all active Durr projects. As General Superintendent, Yoder’s responsibilities consist of allocating and coordinating all of Durr’s field employees, field engineering and maintaining complete customer satisfaction.
